About me

I have over 15 years of experienced working with people with anxiety, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress and the psychological management of long-term health conditions.
 
I currently work in the NHS as a consultant psychologist. I have previously worked as a clinical lead in private sector companies and NHS Trusts in general mental health, eating disorders and clinical health psychology settings. 
 
I work with people in an accepting and non-judgmental manner. I aim provide a safe environment that facilitates psychological change and work collaboratively towards agreed goals. 
 
I also provide supervision for qualified clinical and counselling psychologists.

Education and accreditation

I studied classics at the University of Cambridge, then psychology at the University of East London. I gained my doctorate in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology from the University of Surrey.

I am regulated by the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and chartered as a counselling psychologist by the British Psychological Society (BPS). 

Areas of expertise and further training

I have done post-doctoral training in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitisation response (EMDR) and have practitioner status in both of these therapies.
 
I have also done further training in enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E), the Maudsley model anorexia nervosa treatment for adults (MANTRA), family and systemic therapy, teaching mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for chronic pain.

I have a great deal of experience working with people with anxiety, depression, psychological trauma, phobias, distress around body image and chronic physical conditions.

I am also able to provide psychological assessments for people undergoing elective and cosmetic surgical treatment.
